Hair Removal

During your laser hair removal appointment, your technician will first clean the area to be treated. They will then either apply a cooling gel or a blast of cold air to protect your skin and help the laser penetrate the hair roots. This light is then absorbed by the pigments in your hair follicles, which damages the hair follicle so that it can no longer grow hair.

Before your laser hair removal appointment, it’s important to avoid any form of hair removal that plucks hair from the root, such as waxing or depilatory creams. This is because the laser targets the hair follicles, which are removed when you wax or tweeze. You should also avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks prior and  two weeks after as a tan can make the procedure more difficult and increase the risk of complications such as hyperpigmentation or blistering. Lastly, it’s important to shave the area the day of your appointment to allow the laser to penetrate the hair root more effectively.
